Yeah…you read that right. There is a school in Madhya Pradesh that teaches women to be good. And pray, what do we mean by good? It teaches them to be submissive wives, obedient daughters-in-law and ideal bharatiya naris. While we are at it, could someone please start a school that teaches men to pick up after themselves, help their wives in cooking and cleaning and be polite with their mothers and sisters? And yeah, maybe it could also teach men that they are now adults and quite capable of fetching that cup of coffee or making the bed they slept on.
This school teaches women bharatiya sanskar, a.k.a touching husband’s/random in-laws’ feet, “serving husband and winning laurels”, and “adjusting” to their new home. Right! Very essential, I agree. Could we also have a school that teaches mothers-in-law to stop pampering their darling sons and dissing their daughters-in-law no matter how good she is? And also teach the husband that his wife’s family is now his too? Wait…what else does this school do? It teaches women religious scriptures, naturopathy and domestic chores. I wouldn’t mind having a husband who knows his religion, naturopathy and cooking either. Anyone up for designing such a course for men? Drop me a line please!
Actually, I love the idea! I think I am going to make out a project proposal for such a school and try and get sponsorship from a willing soul. Anyone out there who can help? Please contact me!!
Please employ me as a teacher or a volunteer in that school Amrutha. I will teach men about Bhartiya Sanskruti too. About mutual respect and about raising daughters who can take care of themselves, about letting those daughters be born first. About how to be good partners to their spouses. About understanding that their partners are not their wards. And those partners have families that they love.
Or perhaps I should apply for a job in the school you mention and teach the girls about true and real Bhartiya Sanskruti.

but really how do women even make their daughters go through this.and the daughters??maybe feminism needs to be in those places.free
In addition to all the points mentioned, may we have specific classes to teach men about basic cleanliness as well? I’m frankly sick and tired of travelling on public transport and smelling their “smelliness”!

Was really surprised and angry too that in this age we still have schools to teach women to be good!! Outrageous!!
As you rightly said, what is needed are schools for the boys and their mothers to wake them out of their slumber and teach them some important life lessons. I would be very interested in seeing the mothers and the mama’s boys being tamed.
Hold on ! … you got it wrong in the first paragraph. Just becuase they started a school like that for the females, doesnt mean the next opposite action is start for men. Lets get the school for females shut ! its the right one !
on a different note, Definition of “Good” is poor and the definition of “Bharatiya Naari” is wrong. Naari of the Mughals? Naari of the Cholas? Naari of Pandyas? Naari of Maratha’s? Naari of Rajputanas? – if you are talking post independence – then that defaults to a ‘no specific definition” as its equality before law. Bharatiya Naari is a so wrong term !
So justifies that the school actually takes the fundamental right of a citizen and diminishes the so called “WOmen Empowerment” [as if they arent empowered anyway].
